Hello dear readers,
So this is, once again, an attempt to make this blog happen! I’m about a week out now from Comicpalooza, where I attended some awesome panels and learned a ton about being an Indie Author. I’m trying to decide what the purpose of my blog is, which is really hard. I’d also like to start a newsletter, but that’s not something I know how to set up yet.
Anywho, today I picked up at book at Half Priced Books called The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker. I’ve read that it’s an insightful book about understanding your gut feelings about people and situations. I love books that talk about psychology, so this promises to be an interesting read. That being said, I think I’m going to try to blog about things I’ve read.
Hopefully that won’t be too boring. I read an article recently (Faith & Fantasy Alliance Blog) that talked about in order to write fantasy, you should stop reading it. Instead, you should read classic literature and non-fiction. So that’s something I’m going to try to do!
It will be a challenge for me, simply because I really don’t like to read things that aren’t fantasy. But I hope that this opens my mind to things I don’t know much about currently, and I hope it helps me as an author.
So look for my next post next week. I think I can read a book a week. In my next post I’ll discuss The Gift of Fear and what insights I’ve taken from it.
Until then read, write, and go outside! The weather is great!
